Spring!

It actually looks like spring. As my Dad would call it 'the best English weather - so crisp!'

The International Show was a major success! Considering all that I did was go on stage for the last 5 minutes and say a bunch of thank you's with Tofunmi, I had an unprecedented amount of adrenaline running through me finishing both nights.

All of the performances went well and everyone said they really enjoyed it. The Tythe Barn seats 200 and on the first night it was sold out and on the second there were 182 seats (pretty good considering it was the night of England vrs Wales!).
After celebrating with Tofunmi on Saturday night I had my first Library-after-check-in-experience!

This was the e-mail that was sent out by Lily:

WOMEN. You’ve all seen them. You might well like them. You all came from one.
If you ARE a woman, this is an invitation to the most exciting female event of the year…
To celebrate International Women’s Day (8th March) there will be a WOMEN’S SLEEPOVER in the LIBRARY on Saturday night.
You will be checked in at your houses, then make your way to the library accompanied by staff as was the case with the Storytelling night.
SARA DE GAMA HOWELLS/CREBER, also known as Powys houseparent, will be there overseeing the conversation and general female bonding whilst being hilarious and completely respectful as usual.
If you want to leave and not stay overnight there will one opportunity to return to your houses at around 2:30 in the morning. Otherwise, bring blankets and a sense of humour. Later we may also be showing the film Made in Dagenham.
(Note – This is a Women’s Sleepover rather than a Feminist Sleepover. I was right; there are some male feminists here and we don’t want to exclude them.)

So off I went at 11:30, two pillow and blanket ready. We got all cosy (after having some homemade cakes) and began talking. It started with saying something we liked about ourselves physically. The conversation about body image escalated to pornography. I was quite cosy on Chloé’s lap and drifting in and out of sleep so I left at 1AM with Gabi. Even so it was really lovely.
My Second Years! Four of my second year’s were here over the weekend. Carys (my peer listener), Rhys (Rome Project and travelled to Nice with), Paul from Morgannwg (Shout Out! –The only second year I think who reads actually religiously reads this blog, and now attends Queens College in Oxford for Law), and Scott who I now know is hilarious.
Anyways last night Chlo and I had the pleasure of  making pasta with them in their cottage for dinner. Lucky us. I really hope some of my First Years love me half the amount I love seeing my Second Years.

Upcoming Events –
1.       I’m going to see my grandparents on Wednesday! Oh I’m so excited! Though I have been studious and printed off half a dozen past papers to do while there, I am looking forward to chilling. Having a bath. Eating a pasty. Watching commercials on television.

However this means I am missing the Sustainability Conference, so this will be a first no blog entry on the events that take place. I’ll see if I can get Chloé to write something…

2.       The 10K Run. OMG. Last year this was my life ambition. Now, Insanity and all, I don’t think I can run 1k. So of course Chloé has signed me up. Makes sense. We’ll do it together. Hopefully walk less than half… I really want the shirt.

3.       My parents come! Next Wednesday I get to see them! And stay in a cottage with them for three nights. YAY.

Lots of Love,
Abi
